I had a fabulous experience in Veganerie the last time I was here. We were so, so excited for this meal. But things didn’t go to plan β this is on Veganerie but it’s also on us.
We ordered a tofu-satay inspired wrap which looked absolutely delicious. It was actually delicious as well! But the tofu was fridge cold. On enquiring about this, we were told that the wraps come pre made every morning and they just heat and serve. They offered to reheat it for us, but I found it very off-putting that food in an upscale Bangkok eatery was prepared like this.

I must admit that we both had a bit of a stomach issue the previous day, so we were trying to be really careful on this day. This is why the tofu kerfuffle really got to me.. Maybe on another day I would’ve just asked them to reheat it and we’d have had a nice meal. You can never know.
It took about 10 minutes to figure out what the deal was with the wrap and in all of this, the burger that we had ordered had turned quite cold. The burger was fine β it was a Beyond Burger with cheese. I love simple burgers but this just didn’t do it for me. The cheese was just OK, the patty wasn’t grilled the way you’d want it to be, and the bread was just way too fluffy to be taken seriously as a burger bun. It was served with a big portion of greasy fries. I also realised that it’s important that we keep trying new things. The 20th Beyond Burger is not going to surprise or delight us β unless it is exceptional.

The staff replaced the wrap with a pasta. Which was just very average. The sauce was creamy but bland. Once we added some salt and pepper to it tasted good. The pasta lacked any of the fantastic produce that you get in Thailand. It came loaded with one of the worst facons (Fake bacon) I have tasted so far.

We did end up going back to another branch of Veganerie in Bangkok, just to have a better memory of the place! This time we shared the Strawberry Cheesecake Frappe, which was very amazing. It felt light, fresh and decadent at the same time. The vegan whipped cream on the top was also very tasty.

Their shakes are a must have. Last time I was in Bangkok I had tried their Chocolate Brownie Frappe which was to die for. If you go to this place try one of their Frappes/Milkshakes without fail
They had a huge array of desserts on display.

We also parcelled a vegan cookie to have later in the day. The cookies was OK. Not great, not bad either.
