Kaek Kao Kua, Bangkok is a family run place from the front porch of their home. We found plenty of these restaurants in Vietnam and we absolutely loved the idea – you get the comfort and warmth of a meal at home without having to put in any of the effort!

The Khao Soi was delicious! It was right up there with the Khao Suey my mom makes which has been a family favourite for decades. It’s odd to compare a Thai interpretation of a Burmese dish with an Indian interpretation but it was freaky how similar they were! The soup was so tasty that we licked the bowl clean. This is the ultimate compliment.

The spicy chicken noods were great too. It came with a chickpea omelette which was the star of the show. This style of vegetarian omelette is a staple that you’ll find across India as well! The combination of the noodles, the mock chicken, the chickpea omlette, the sweet chili sauce and the ground chili spice was excellent.

It was a lovely day and we were in the mood for a nourishing meal. The food at Kaek Kao Kua, Bangkok was fresh, home made, delicious and pocket friendly. A great place to try some vegan local Thai food.

Both the dishes together cost us 288 THB which is approx 685 Rs.
