Waki waki, Bangkok is a Vegetarian and Vegan Sushi bar in upscale Sukhumvit. It is a small space with just two tables and a couple of individual seats but the interior vibe is very good.

We loved whatever we tried here. We tried the Nigiri sampler plate and it looked absolutely gorgeous. I usually don’t marvel at what food looks like, but wow! The colours, the play of glossy and matte reflections, the knife strokes.. it was a real pleasure for the eyes.

The Ninja Nigiri set consisted of (left to right):
- Beetroot Nigiri (1 pc)
- Pickled Radish Nigiri (1 pc)
- Grilled Oringi Mushroom Nigiri (1 pc)
- Avacado Nigiri (1 pc)
- Plant based meat Nigiri (1 pc)
- Tamago Standard Maki (3 pc)
- Seaweed Standard Maki (3 pc)
All the Nigiris made a mark but our favourites were: the savoury, chewy, umami explosion from the mock meat one; the vivid, glossy, tangy kick from the pickled beetroot one; the creamy avocado one was topped with fried onions which was a nice surprise; and the grilled mushroom with teriyaki sauce was good in an obviously good way.
They served it with a complimentary bowl of mushroom soup which was simple and soothing.

This dish cost us 347.2 THB = 850 Rs INR.
We wanted to go back the next day to try their signature WAKI WAKI rolls but they were shut! π
